**Pause before layering choreography—tune into the music’s steady pulse.** For Seattle dancers in class, this small reset makes timing feel clearer and helps curb the urge to rush.

**Give a three-pass listen a try.** Start by tapping or nodding to the beat without moving your feet. Then count evenly while holding the pulse. Finally, add one simple step and see if it lands right on the beat.
