Age doesn’t singlehandedly determine when a preschool dancer should advance. Focus on how your child participates: Do they follow short directions, join group activities, transition between exercises, and remain engaged for much of the class?
Emotional readiness is equally important. A child may be prepared for a new challenge when they can attempt an unfamiliar movement, recover from a mistake, and accept gentle guidance without becoming consistently overwhelmed.
